Zombie Popepocalypse!

Maddie Stone wrote a great post for Gizmodo yesterday on the City of Philadelphia’s preparation for the Pope’s visit to Philly. While not quite the rant like my post a couple of days ago, she expressed a number of the same concerns, comparing the plans to the movie 28 Days Later where officials quarantine the population to prevent a zombie contagion (you can read her full post here: Philly’s Preparations for Pope Francis are Like a Dry Run for the Apocalypse).

I am beginning to think is it is more like the deserted scenes of London after the virus has spread early in the film:

Traffic Cam

 

This is a view from a traffic cam looking eastbound on the Schuykill Expressway east of Spring Garden Street just west of Center City this afternoon. It would normally be bumper-to-bumper traffic.

 

 

But then again, maybe we have been quarantined. These are all the streets which have been closed to traffic:
